History

The 25th Purley (St. Mark’s) Scout Group was first registered with the Scout Association on the 1st December 1951 and has been providing Scouting for the local community, based at St. Mark’s Church, ever since – that’s thousands of young people who have benefited over the years. DSC_7897

In 2003 the 25th Purley welcomed its first two girls into Cubs and we now have girls in each of our 3 Sections.  In 2011 we offered to sponsor an Explorer Scout Unit based at the 25th Purley which is open to all young people aged from 14.5 to 18 in our local community, including our own older Scouts.  It was named the Phoenix Explorer Scout Unit and is thriving.
