Joining Us

“Two things matter in life: following your dreams and looking after your friends.  This is what I love about Scouting.  It’s about doing great things, loving and enjoying the great adventures and helping others to do the same.”  Bear Grylls, Chief Scout.

What we do

Every year Scouting helps 400,000 young people in the UK enjoy new adventures; to experience the outdoors; interact with others, gain confidence and have the opportunity to reach their full potential.

Working alongside our youth members are thousands of adult volunteers, with a huge variety of roles and opportunities available!

How to join us

Beavers, the youngest section in Scouting, is all about having fun, making friends and is designed for young people aged from 6 to 8. Our Beaver Colony meets on Tuesdays from 5.30pm to 6.30pm in the Scout Hut, behind the Church Hall at St. Mark’s, Purley.

To find out more about the 25th Purley (St Mark’s), do visit the “About Us” page and read our annual report ‘Highlights 2015/2016′, available in the “Forms” section of this website.

We are sponsored by St. Mark’s Church which has been providing us with somewhere to meet for over 60 years and we proudly carry their name:

We are the 25th Purley (St. Mark’s) Scout Group.

St. Mark’s is part of our Scout family and we are part of theirs – as such, we help and support each other. We are present at their family services on two Sundays mornings each term and expect all our members to attend.

We are an active, thriving and very friendly Scout Group – and simply ask for a commitment from all our families before they join us that they will give St. Mark’s and our Scout Group their full support.
