 January 2013.
We are thrilled to bits to have won the Gala on Saturday 12th January and to have regained the District Scout Swimming Gala trophy! The trophy goes back to 1953 and is one of the oldest in Purley Scouting.  The 25th Purley won it in 1957 and 1959 and then didn’t win it again until 2006.  We then won the trophy 5 years in a row and came second last year.  So to have won 6 years out of the past 7 is a truly magnificent performance. The scouts did so well because they took part, they did their very best and they were each an essential part of the team – everything you could hope for from Scouts, and the 25th Purley in particular.Thank you to the squad for their determination, hard work and 25th Purley team spirit.  You were focused, you never gave up and you swam for every single point and place – we are so very proud of you all…………….
January 2013.
