We are passionate about Scouting at the 25th Purley.
Scouting offers our young people the opportunity to develop to become the kind of adults that we can all be proud of. At the 25th Purley, we deliver high quality exciting weekly programmes for young people from the age of 6 to 18 and an extensive range of adventurous activities and camps throughout the year.
Scouting benefits the entire community as it gives young people something exciting, adventurous and fun to do; it encourages them to achieve and be proud of themselves; it gives them opportunities to take part in a wide range of adventurous activities that are often not available elsewhere and above all and it gives them something constructive to do with their time and in a way that benefits us all.
We encourage our young people to do their best to live their lives according to The Scout Law and The Scout Promise.
We are proud of our reputation for delivering first class Scouting with excellent equipment and resources and led by inspirational Leaders of exceptional ability and commitment.
HOW WE WORK
WE TEACH SKILLS
All of our activities are aimed to teach both technical and soft skills – from learning how to cook on camp to building personal confidence
WE EARN BADGES
We work towards earning various badges at our weekly meetings or on camps – from an Astronomer Badge to a Survival Skills Badge!
Our action packed camps are what our young people look forward to most – a brilliant opportunity to have fun, learn skills and make new friends
WE HAVE FUN
Our supercharged Leader Team provide action packed, enjoyable activities and our young people have loads of fun every week
All members of our exceptional Leader Team are volunteers – and we believe in working with our young people to build great social values
Whether raft building, air rifle shooting, or just a casual A-Frame race around our Scout Hut – we love a good friendly competition!
